In November of 2009, Joe Fetty showed me the remnants of the Kinnaird Cemetery with five markers. Joe and I started weed eating and clearing brush.
In the spring, Rod Linch and I continued the clearing and tree cutting. As the summer progressed, Kathy Mack helped me dig up sunken base stones and level them. In ninety-degree heat, she and I completed aligning and erecting a total of thirteen headstones.
One grave I gave special attention to was that of Pvt. David K. Page. His Civil War marker was worn to the point that all that was readable was the 11 W.VA Inf. I ordered a replacement marker from the Veterans Administration and installed it. Also researched his West Virginia Civil War Medal and it was unclaimed. After making application to the WV State Archives, it was awarded to James Page of Vienna, WV July 2010. Jim is David Pages' great nephew.
As the restoration came to completion, I placed flowers on all the graves.
