This is primarily a small family cemetery, its oldest known burial is in 1890, but is still in use today. It is located just 1/4 mile off of Hwy 251 between Huffines and McLeod, Texas on the right. There is a small sign denoting the church on the main road but no acknowledgment of the cemetery. New Hope Primitive Baptist Church sits just below the cemetery on the left side of the road. The descendants and members of this church and cemetery meet annually at the church and have a grounds cleaning and reunion. Note about the church building according to Cass County Cemetery Book: This church was moved from the Melvin Hall land in 1889 to its present location which was donated by Jesse Beene.
In July of 2013 the church held it closing service that included a foot washing ceremony. There were 18 people present for this last service of Pleasant Hope Primitive Baptist Church.
NOTE: The FAG system brings up the town as Huffins, in actuality it is HUFFINES should you try to locate it on any legal map, census records, or documents.
