At the beginning of the 20th century, it began with the ideal of having a training center for aviators, for this they settled first in Bellavista, then in Maranga and finally, due to the characteristics on the ground that facilitated flight training, they settled in La Palmas (Santiago de Surco). Thus, on July 23, 1922, the "Las Palmas Military Aviation Center" was inaugurated with the presence of then president, Augusto B Leguía, and Commander Juan O'Connor was appointed as director.
After the year, lieutenants and lieutenants of the Army fill the first vacancies to receive instruction, beginning classes on November 27, 1923, the anniversary of Tarapacá and change of name to Jorge Chávez Military Aviation.
This reference point was joined by stages of transformations in names, infrastructure, adding the improvement in the instruction of military aeronautics. On July 25, 1991, it was renamed the "FAP Captain FAP José Abelardo Quiñones Gonzáles Officers School" and in this phase the entry of women into the armed forces comes with other challenges. This also emphasizes academic, military, moral, psychophysical and cultural training, 5 areas that are being worked hard to achieve a full officer who defends the Peruvian airspace and is committed to society.
Upon completion, their studies graduate with the academic degree of Bachelor, prepared to receive the professional title in Aerospace Sciences.
