I am told this is a wolf cover. Or, at least the bottom of a wolf cover. The cover is actually missing. These were used in the early days when wolves lived in the area. Stones were placed around the location of the burial (in this case an infant based on size of the cover) then one stone was placed on top so the wolves could not get to the body of the deceased.

This wolf cover was found at Graveyard Hill. Because of the overgrowth there was no way to really take a picture of the cemetery at large.
