This old cemetery is AKA Tannery Cemetery and Old Gormania Cemetery. The cemetery is located on Hoffman Hill at Gormania, Grant County West Virginia. This overgrown cemetery has many unmarked and sunken graves. The cemetery's original boundaries are marked by decaying fence posts and rusting fence, and the grounds are covered with ferns, briars, and saplings. The remaining grave markers are nearly impossible to see during the summer, even from a nearby path. More recently, in Oct. 2012, snow from Superstorm Sandy downed many trees and branches in the vicinity of the cemetery, which apparently had its last burials in the 1920s.
