Add PhotosOn Sept. 10, 1845, in Original Book 12, page 534, Highland County Deeds Records, Thomas Webster and Elizabeth his wife deeded 100 acres to Noah Wright "with the exception of one-fourth acre for a school house and one half acre and meeting hourse and berring (sic) ground."
On Feb. 8, 1867, in Orginial Book 37, page 42, Maria Spargur, Anthony W. Spargur and Lucinda his wife, Nelson W. Spargur and Catherine his wife, Joel W. Spargur and his wife Nancy, Albert West and Mary his wife, Addison Gall and Sarah his wife, John W. White and Rachel his wife, Albert Keys and Susan M. his wife, Jane Spargur and Lucinda Spargur deeded one-half acre, being this cemetery to the Mount "Tabernacle" Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Maria (Marya W.) Spargur, who was a Franklyn, was the wife of J. W. Spargur and the other grantors were his children and their wives and husbands. This cemetery is also known as Mt. Lookout.
