McConaughy Cemetery

It is believed, this cemetery was founded on land owned by George Keltner in 1846 and had been know as Keltner Cemetery.
By 1915, Charles M. McConaughy had possision of this land. He was the Grandson of James Frier, who settled on the Elkhart Prairie, south of Goshen, IN in 1830. James was the first County Assessor, But had to relinquish the office because he had not been naturalized. He took the oath soon after being naturalized and then held public office.
