Edmundsbury Chapel was originally built as a Chapel of Ease for St. Bartholomew's Parish in what is now Colleton County, SC. By 1760, the brick building was in use for divine services, although it was reported unfit for use in 1786. After falling down in 1810, it was rebuilt in wood about 1819. It again burned in 1852 and was rebuilt in 1854. In 1865, Union troops wrecked it and it was never rebuilt.
