Around 1902, a new cemetery location was landscaped south of the tracks. In 1966, trees were planted and a fence was erected. The pillars and the iron fence at the entrance of the cemetery were dedicated by the Women's Institute in 1934.

As noted above, a part of the town's story and those of its inhabitants from the early days of European settlement through roughly 1967 is told in the volume "Elkhorn 1882-1967", especially starting on page 37.
