Bell Family Cemetery
Grand Isle, Grand Isle County, Vermont, USA
The Bell Family Cemetery, if it was ever marked, disappeared before February 20, 1865 when a descendant wrote to President of the United States Abraham Lincoln: "It has long been a source of pain for me to know that my Friends lie sleeping on the shore's of Champlain with not even a Marble slab to tell the name of a Revolutionary Soldier his wife & child" and "I pray you and your Cabinet may appropriate money sufficient enough to erect a monument or even a simple slab to the memory of a Soldier of the Revolution." The Bell Family Cemetery was surely located on the Benjamin Bell property near the west shore of Lake Champlain in the general vacinity of the present day (2008) Lake Champlain Transportation Company's ferry landing at Grand Isle, Vermont.
