The cemetery has been sadly neglected for decades (possibly for over a century). The entire cemetery has not been cleared, has grown into woods and is mowed infrequently. Many of the remaining stones are broken and covered in underbrush. Some stones are piled around trees. Other stones are lost to history.
There are military veterans in this cemetery. Abner Allison served in the War of 1812 with Capt Harbaugh's Company of Light Dragoons. Daniel Clapsaddle was Captain of the Cumberland County PA Militia during the American Revolution. John Thompson was a veteran of the War of 1812. Jacob Shawk was a veteran of the American Revolution. Nothing has been done to honor these patriots. Nobody cares.
In recent years, a few independent groups have tried to clean up the cemetery (ie a Boy Scout troop and a public school class)
The village of Lisbon has all kinds of excuses for not taking care of the cemetery, even though many of their pioneers are buried there.
The cemetery is located in Center Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, and is # 2053 (Jordanville Cemetery) in "Ohio Cemeteries 1803-2003", compiled by the Ohio Genealogical Society.
