The cemetery is located on a pasture hilltop on private property which was the original farm of Johannes H. and Barbara Garber. This is a working dairy farm; old sturdy shoes or boots are a must when trooping through the field to the site. Owners in the past have been very gracious in allowing Garber descendents access to visit the cemetery, but asking permission is much appreciated.
Directions from Route 42/Senedo Road :
Take Route 733 to Flat Rock Church (has a deep quarry behind it). In front of the church is a T intersection. Turning right will lead to Flat Rock Cemetery at the entrance of Bicentennial Farm (more Garbers & relations). However go straight and drive 0.2 miles from the church. The macadam driveway is on the right - it is long, rough and winding. On approaching the house and farm, the cemetery can be seen in the distance on the left. It is enclosed in a simple fence on the hilltop.
The plot numbers with each entry refer to a map that was created in 1946 by Harry M. Strickler and W. Hoyle Garber. A diagram of this map appears in the book " John H. Garber and Barbara Miller of Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia" by Floyd Mason, 1998., page 1099. An image of this map is included with the cemetery photographs on the right.
The entrance gate of the cemetery is on the north fence line.
