Located in the White Plains Corporate Business Park.
Follow Crain Highway (Rt. 301 South) from the Beltway to White Plains. The White Plains Corporate Business Park is approximately 1/8 mile south of Billingley Road on the right at Regency Place.
The Hargraves cemetery is located behind the large office building at the rear of the property, adjacent to the row of new offices. After the recent development, a stone wall was added to the edge of the area and grass has been planted. The responsible property owner has saved this small family cemetery from ruin.
One of the several properties owned by Theophilus Hargraves was known as "Indian Town Land", situated on the east side of Nanjemoy Creek. The family cemetery was located on this property. After the death of Mary Hargraves in 1848, the land was no longer owned by a family member. One of the several owners was Basil Spalding, who sold it just prior to the Civil War. Since that time, it has been owned by various land speculators.
The cemetery had been abandoned and overgrown with brush and small saplings. Several trees had grown against gravestones and some were flat on the ground. At least two were broken. There were 8 tombstones at the time of the MIHP survey and all remain in 2012.
