Situated just behind the Royal Botanical Gardens, on the border of Burlington and Hamilton. Take Plains Road to Botanical Drive, turn right on Botanical to Spring Gardens Road. The entrance is adjacent to, but not part of, the neighbouring Woodland Cemetery.
Mausoleum hours for visitation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 365 days a year. The cemetery grounds outside are open to the public at all times.
Rich in heritage, Bayview Cemetery & Mausoleum is on the same land once known as Bay View Park, first mentioned in a local newspaper article dated August 27th, 1883. The Mausoleum now stands where the once very popular Bay View Hotel was situated, on a bluff overlooking Hamilton Bay.
In 1925 the Hamilton Mausoleum, the first of its kind in Canada, opened its doors to the public. In 1985, to preserve the heritage of the property, it was renamed Bayview Cemetery & Mausoleum. Bayview has been serving the community (Hamilton, Burlington, Stoney Creek, Niagara and surrounding areas) for over eighty-five years.
