I'm co founder and president of the Martinez Cemetery Preservation Alliance (MCPA) which is focused on the Preservation, Beautification, and Advocation for the restoration of the Alhambra Pioneer Cemetery. It is the oldest known cemetery not only in Martinez but also of Contra Costa County.

My passion started with the restoration of Potter's Field and wanting to eliminate the anyonmous nature of its residents. When the cement markers were installed in 1935, they rendered just about everyone intered there to invisablilty. I believe their stories are just as valuable and deserve to be told and elevated as anyone else's.

Our volunteer efforts started in 2015 under the banner of the Potter's Field Restoration Project until it was expanded and brought under the auspices of the newly formed MCPA founded in 2019. To learn more, please visit https://www.martinezcemetery.org.
