Bio

He who wishes to know the path through the mountains, must ask those who have already trodden it.

Find a Grave guidelines now have a note that memorial managers have the responsibility to research the edits that are sent by 'Suggest Edits' or 'Suggest other Corrections' and that edits should be accepted or declined according to the manager's research.

Please only submit edits that can be verified from official sources. If I can't verify a submitted edit suggestion, it will more than likely be refused. There are so many mistakes being propagated and copied across some family history sites that the information they contain becomes nearly useless due to inaccuracy. Only official documents will be accepted as proof of a suggested edit, so if I can't find the document, then I suggest you cite the source of it and provide a link to same you can also use the Notes Section when suggesting edits to provide verifiable sources.

Note: Military enlistment documents are notorious for having false DoB recorded to guarantee acceptance and as such cannot be taken as a 100% reliable source.
Veteran Status: For those of you who are suggesting a memorial be marked with Veteran Status, unless the headstone or plaque confirms this, please submit a regimental number to aid in confirmation.
Military Ranks/Titles According to the the Defence Style Guide issued by the Australian Department of Defence the following protocol should be followed.
Avoid using the shortened forms of ranks.
For internal Defence use, it is common to write the ranks in abbreviated form using capital letters.
Don't follow this convention in other types of content. Write the full rank with an initial capital letter.
Write this Lieutenant T Smith [Outside Defence]
Not this LT T Smith [Defence only]
