Bio

Mother of 5, Adoptive mother of 2, stepmother of 2 and grandmother of 24.I have 4 sisters (all older than me), I would have had 5 brothers (all older than me), but they were either still born or miscarried. My mom started asking me about how the internet could help with finding ancestors when the internet was just a babe. I found out a lot.The genealogy I was doing actually ignited an idea to take a trip to Mt. Vernon IN, where my father's family is from, with a stop in Carlyle, IL, where my mother's family is from, on the way back to Missouri. Two of my sisters were able to go with mom and me and, I'll tell ya, it was a blast.I gave up looking for genealogical lines when my husband died in August of 2001. At that time, my sister, Sharon, took up the gauntlet and has been running with it ever since.Last September, she decided to do a family reunion. She put together a big board with pictures of all of us sisters and our families in different colors. She's so creative. Since then, she's gotten me into the hunt again.Since I've moved so far away, I've decided to start documenting cemeteries. I know how hard it is to find that one illusive line or nail down that one date and there are so many cemeteries in my area that are either incomplete or not listed at all.So..... without further ado, here goes nothin.
