Bio

I have been researching my family lines over 35 years. Some of the surnames I am researching are:

New England: ATWOOD, DEMPSEY, ELLIS, ETHIER, FREEMAN, GIBBS, GRIFFITH, HOLMES, JEFFERSON, LINCOLN, NICHOLS, STINCHFIELD

West Virginia: BLAKE, COGAR, CONRAD, POSEY, RIFFLE, ROBINSON/ROBERTSON,
SINGLETON, SKINNER, WALTON

I do not like to create memorials with "unknown" burial locations, but have found it necessary in some cases. I search for a location of burial, but some people lived in rural areas and may have been laid to rest on the family farm or they are in an unmarked grave and those who knew where they were buried are also deceased. I create the memorials in hopes that someone will find the memorial and have the missing piece of information. I also create them to help link the families together for other researchers.

I do not edit obituaries. They are public records. If they are in a newspaper or on a funeral home website, the information is already out there.
