I stumbled upon the find a grave website when researching my maternal great grandfather's burial record on the Rosario cemetery website. I became very excited when I found a picture of his headstone. This started me on my path not only to know who my ancestors were and what their history was, but to find peace within myself of knowing where their final resting place was. This small but very powerful bit of information gives my future relatives knowledge of their ansestors and maybe a heart warming feeling of knowing that someone else shares the same passion in genealogy as they do. My friends and family think it's strange that I find cemeteries so interesting especially while traveling. They can't believe that my agenda consists of visiting the local cemetery during my visits to other countries. I love the history and I'm amazed with the tombstones, dates, and in some places the above burial practices. I find myself at peace where I can consume how these people must have lived their lives.
