I was born in Effingham, Illinois to Dallas Robert Coats and Ruth Jeanette McCain Coats. Graduated in 1956 from Effingham High School. Went to Baylor University in Waco, Texas and received a BS in Nursing. Married in 1959 to William Burkhart. We have three boys, three wonderful dau-in-laws and six grandchildren. We retired to Glen Rose, Texas. Bill and I both have descendants who lived in Texas County, Missouri. I have to keep the families straight in my head. They have all become my family.
