Thomas Barrett passed away on June 17, 1891. He was 81 years 6 months and 9 days of age.

Mr. Barrett was born on December 11, 1809 in Harrison County, Ohio, to David Barrett and Winifred Kerby Barrett, who had emigrated from Virginia to Ohio in 1803.

He was married to Susan Perry in Ohio on January 22, 1835, whom was his companion for 56 years.

He was a resident and a farmer of Kansas for twenty-six years. He was assisted by his wife and children as they made a beautiful home, on a firm farm that was well improved and well stocked.

He was a kind husband, an affectionate father, peaceful law abiding citizen.

He was brought up as a Quaker in a family of eleven. He leaves his wife, two sons and a daughter. He was the brother of A.G. Barrett.

Funeral services were at the family home with Reverend J. Wilson in charge of the services.

Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery
Frankfort, Kansas.
