Jean G. Bennett, 79, Henderson, passed away at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She retired from the Henderson County School System as a bus driver. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid bowler.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin P. Bennett, who died on July 1, 2001; her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Paul Bennett; two daughters, Raye Ann McNeish of Henderson and Jo Bennett of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Drew Hopson, Brea Rich and Melissa Bennett; two stepgrandchildren, Tiffany Basham and Kristen McNeish; and five great-grandchildren, Laynie, Cooper, Zach, Riley and Reese.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Galloway will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.
