CHARLES H. BENDER, well known resident of Sharpsburg, died early Saturday morning at his home from complications, aged 71 years.
Mr. Bender was employed as foreman of the Antietam Battlefield for more than ten years.
Surviving are his widow and the following children: Mrs. Helen Breithaupt, Dresden, Ohio; Mrs. Elmer Wyand, Keedysville; Mrs. Reuben Forbes, Milton, Pa.; Mrs. Clytie Swain, at home; James Lester Bender, Sharpsburg; Charles Orvil Bender, Hagerstown; and Ebbie T. Bender, Long Island, NY; brother, James Bender, Duncannon, Pa.
Funeral services were at the home; interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
