Jesse Thomas King was born Nov. 25, 1875, in North Carolina and passed away Sunday, April 29, 1945, at the Methodist Hospital in Scottsbluff, Neb. When a small boy he moved to Missouri with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. King and the family settled in the Clever community. In 1894 he was united in marriage to Miss Rebecca Florence and to this union were born 10 children. One son preceded him in death. The family made their home in the Clever community until 20 years ago when they moved to Crook, Colo., and later to Bayard, Neb. He united with the Baptist church at Clever early in life and retained his membership there. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca; six daughters, Mrs. Blanche Stull, Crook, Colo.; Mrs. Cressie Broyles, Greely, Colo.; Mrs. Ruby Trettenero, Scottsbluff, Neb., Mrs. Velma Whited, North Platt, Neb., Mrs. Maxine Edgar, Gering, Neb., and Mrs. Stella Wise, Springfield, Mo.; three sons, Glenn King of Pedroni, Colo.; Eura and Orba King of Clever; four sisters; Mrs. Lewis Little of Clever, Mrs. Walter Bristow of Springfield, Mrs. Ben Ehrhart of Republic, Mrs. Claud Arndt of Billings; one brother, Bert King of Concrete, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, May 3, at the Clever Christian church with Rev. Robert Baker of Springfield officiating. Burial was made in the Wise Hill cemetery under direction of Maples of Clever
