A note about date of death. This information is from a letter I received from a family member Sandra Ratledge.
Her death certificate is Missouri #15580 and says she was born Sept. 6, 1852 and died May 27, 1932. Her death certificate records her name as Berthena Marilda King, a widow. The informant for her death certificate was Ailsie Maxwell. So, I think her tombstone is wrong. Since she died during the Great Depression, I'm wondering if the stone were inscribed and erected years after she died.
It is believed she was a twin to Ozena Matilda Hampton although some census report her as a year older than Bethena. Both born 22 June 1952. More reason to believe the headstone may be wrong.
