Hyman's father, name unknown, died when Hyman was a young boy. His mother's name is unknown. Both were born in Russia.
Hyman was married to Fannie Jalkow/Jalkofsky [nee Eisenberg], also born in Russia. They raised several of their first born children in Odessa before immigrating to the United States.
Fannie and Hyman's children were: Boris, Louis, John, Minnie/Minia[married name BERMAN/Morris], Sally/Sima {married name LESSINGER/Albert] and Sophie/Sonia{married name REISMAN/Abraham]. According to my Grandmother Sally, six other children were born to Hyman and Fannie, but did not survive. Although I have no records of this, my Grandmother repeatedly mentioned this from the time I was a child, until her passing. I was also told that one of the children who did not survive, was named Rose, and she would have been the youngest of the Jalkofsky daughters.
