FROSTBURG - Joseph W. Brode, 75, of 75 Locust Street, died yesterday at his residence. A native of Borden Shaft, he was a son of the late Conrad and Jennie (Mason) Brode. Mr. Brode was a former coal miner and retired employee of Allegany Ballistics Laboratory and a veteran of World War I. He was also a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church and Farrady Post 24, American Legion. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret (Crump) Brode; one daughter, Mrs. Joanne Duckworth, here; one son, James W. Brode, Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth B. Yund, Lititz, Pa., and three grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, here, where friends will be received today. Services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Clarence Kaylor officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. The Cumberland Sunday Times, May 27, 1973
