Borden Shaft, June 15 - Sophie Jane "Jennie" Brode, 78, widow of Conrad Brode, Borden Shaft, died early this morning at the home of her son, George Brode, Westernport, where she had been visiting the past three weeks. She had been in ill health six weeks. Mrs. Brode, who made her home at Borden Shaft, was a native of England, and came to this country when she was two years of age. She was a member of Borden Shaft Methodist church. Surviving are two other sons, Joseph and Charles Brode, both of Frostburg, and three daughters, Mrs. Alice Woods, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Sarah Munsey, Detroit; and
Mrs. Ruth Yound, Baltimore. The body is at the home of her son, Charles, Maple street, Frostburg. No arrangements have been made. The Cumberland Evening Times, June 15, 1945
