John B. Ackert died at Vassar Hospital, Poughkeepsie, on Wednesday evening, January 7, in his fifty-second year. Mr. Ackert was well known in New Paltz, having lived here for many years but had made his home in Poughkeepsie for several years where he was engaged in the painting business. He had suffered from stomach trouble for some time past and on Monday evening he was taken to Vassar Hospital suffering from chronic appendicitis but no help could be given him.
He leaves a wife, one son, two bothers, Lewis and George of New Paltz, and four sisters, Anna Williams, Mrs. John W. Scott, Mrs. Emma Judson and Mrs. Stanley Decker. Funeral services will be held at the late residence, 67 South Clover Street, Poughkeepsie, at 2:30 P.M. on Friday. Interment at New Paltz Cemetery.
