Eliza Jane Campbell was the first wife of:
Rufus King Campbell.

They had 4 children; Albert, Susan, Mary and John.

The following was given to me by Charlene Patterson:

Washington Reporter - June 19, 1862

Died: On Wednesday morning, the 28th ultimo, at the residence of her husband in Waynesburg, Mrs. Eliza Jane Hart, consort of Rufus King Campbell, Esq., age 35 years.

The deceased was the eldest daughter of the late John Hart, of this Borough, and during her whole life exhibited all those virtues which adorn the Christian character. She was an affectionate wife, tender mother, devoted sister, a dutiful daughter and kind neighbor. In her last moments, she manifested a composure of mind suited to the placid virtues which distinguished her character and so endeared her to all who knew her; and although her body may now mingle with the clouds of the valley, her emancipated spirit now rests in the bosom of her God.

It has also been indicated that she may have died on
May 28, 1862.
