On August 12th, 1882, Christopher Bartels, in the 87th year of his age died. The deceased came into this country from Germany in 1854 and has resided with his son, Hon. F.J. Bartels for the most of his time since his arrival. He was well known to all of the old settlers, among whom his death will cast a gloomy shadow. The funeral took place lats Monday.
