Services for Larry Ansel Christian, age 77, of Tyler are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mr. Christian passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at The Hospice of East Texas HomePlace in Tyler.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1935, in Sand Flat to James and Nellie Cordelia Christian; they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Steve Christian.

Mr. Christian served in the United States Army. He worked for LaGloria Oil Co. as an instrument technician.

He is survived by his wife, Johanna Christian of Tyler; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Paula Christian of Cleburne and Larry Jr. and Donna Christian of Tyler; one daughter and son-in-law, Ursula and John Lewis of Arlington; four granddaughters, Julie Hampton and her husband Doug, Laura Christian, Kelli Christian and Monica Mask and her husband Ken; one grandson, Matt Christian and his wife Alyssa; two great-grandsons, Jasper and Gage Christian; one stepgrandson, Gunner Thorn; and special friend, Lavern Chapman.

Visitation will be from 5 to7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
