CaroL Arnold was the only daughter of Mr. John J. Arnold and Mrs. Mary Josephine Smith Arnold. She attended public schools there and later Georgia Wesleyan College for Women where she graduated in 1925 with majors in English and Music. She taught high school for several years in Richland and Moultrie, Georgia prior to accepting Federal employment in Fayetteville and Atlanta.
Following her Father's death, Carol moved to Washington, D.C. in early 1934 to accept a position with the Internal Revenue Service. She was later joined by her mother who worked for the General Accounting Office during the World War 11 years. Both mother and daughter were very active members of the Mount Vernon Place Methodist Church. Mary Josephine Smith Arnold passed away on March 28, 1969. Carol remained with the Internal Revenue Service throughout her long Government career and retired in 1975 as a Tax Specialist.
Carol dearly loved her church and her Lord. She was a living example of a true Christian and an inspiration to all who knew her.
