Thomas Comment: A military marker request is in progress as of June 26, 2021. First discharge papers have been requested and after receipt back a request using VA form 40-1330 will be sent. The cemetery staff has signed forms necessary to place the markers. Veterans Administration would only provide a small attachment to the headstone as the new rule, only government markers are for those after 1940, without a headstone, will be provided with such a marker. I purchased a government-like stone and hard it placed appropriately.
