Robert William Austin, age 87, of Wyoming, died Sunday, June 27, 2010.
Bob was a six year veteran of the Marine Corps in World War II. He also was a lifetime member of D.A.V. and he retired from Steelcase after 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva; sons, Brad and Michael; brothers, Frank, Don and Garth; and his sister, Ruth McCoy.
He is survived by his children, Robert Jr. (Hattie), and Lisa Austin; grandchildren, Gineva (Rhyan), Emily, Audra, Elizabeth, Joel, Robert W. III (Sue), Kevin, Michelle, Abigail, Tyler, and Amber; great grandchildren, Preston, Gavin, Kyleigh and Eden; sister, Marian Stehower; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Al Cronheim, Shirley and Ray Hartwell, Mickey and Lynn Siebers, Diane Tilma, Harley and Cyndy Vredevoogd, Don and Sharon Vredevoogd, John and Joan Vredevoogd, Walt Woodhouse, Ben McCoy, and Patricia Austin; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish, may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan.
