Leola was married to Tuck Leach. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She cooked meals and fed many children. She also enjoyed fishing. She was previous member of Friendship Holiness Church before her health declined. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three children, Rosa Leach Hines, Margerine Leach Crosby and William David Leach; two sisters, Rosetta Surles and Mattie Miles; one brother, William David Baker Jr.
She leaves to cherish precious memories to six children; Sarah Chandler, Dan Willie Leach, Tuck Leach, Mary Leach, George (Linda) Leach, and Joshua Leach all of High Point; six brothers, John Dee (Kate) Baker, John Henry (Minnie) Baker, Maurice Miles, Joseph Miles, Leon Miles, Leroy Miles and Raymond Miles all of Roland, NC; two sisters, Mono Lisa Miles and Mary Lois Miles both of Rowland, NC; two adopted sisters, Hazel (Ben) Leach of Lumberton, NC and Willie Mae (Lacy) Pemberton of High Point; one adopted brother, Peter Smith of New York; 33 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will begin at 12:30pm, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Living Water Baptist Church, 1300 Brentwood St. with Pastor Lee Bynum of the New Hope Community Fellowship Church, officiating. Family visitation will begin at 12:00pm-12:30pm at the church. The family will also receive friends at the daughter home, Sarah Chandler located at 621 Paramount St. Burial will be in Floral Garden Memorial Park.
