Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - March 16, 2003. Obituary: Athelene Wood Weatherston, 5/25/1913 ~ 3/13/2003, CLEARFIELD. Athelene Weatherston, 89, passed away quietly at her home in Chancellor Gardens Thursday, March 13, 2003, in Clearfield, Utah. She was born May 25, 1913, in Clearfield, the daughter of Loy and Nancy Barlow Wood. She married Harold C. Weatherston May 25, 1933, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She graduated from Davis High in Kaysville, UT. Athelene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, great great-grandmother and friend. She opened and operated a beauty shop in the Weber State Gym Building of Weber College. She then opened and operated her own wedding and catering business. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held many numerous callings in both ward, stake and regional levels. She was active in civic activities and also was president for many years in the PTA organization.

Surviving are her daughters, Janet (Jim) Barber, Dixie (Jerry) Fishburn, Nancy (Tom) Bench, Nadine (Jerry) Gass, Kaye (Donald) Spencer; one son, Ronald (Chrissy) Weatherston; two brothers, Barlow (Veda) Wood, Loy J. (Elaine) Wood; one sister, June (Leland) Johnson; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold, parents and one brother, Gordon Wood. Services will be Tues. March 18, 2003, 11 a.m. Clearfield LDS 12th Ward Chapel, 151 N. 1000 W, Clearfield, UT. Friends may attend a viewing at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W, Roy Mon. March 17, 6-8 p.m. and Tues. at the church 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery. Special thanks from the family for all their special and loving care given to our mother from Chancellor Gardens. Special thanks to Dr. Mohr for all he has done for Mom.
