Emma Tingey Byrne, wife, mother and sister died early Sunday morning May 23, 2004, two days after her 84th birthday.

Emma was born May 21, 1920, in Centerville, Utah, to Wesley Earl and Ivy Gladys Parsons Tingey. Emma was raised on the farm in Centerville and graduated from Davis High School. She was a member of the LDS Church. Emma married Francis Walter Byrne on November 17, 1941; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1944.

They had one daughter, Renee, who married Donald H. Molin and they reside in California.

Emma adored small children, and was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She taught Primary in California and was a stay-at-home homemaker.

Emma was the sixth child of a family of 14 children. She was preceded in death by nine siblings and her parents. She is survived by three brothers and a sister: Dale T. Tingey, Calvin R. (Sharry) Tingey, Shirleen (Joe) Nelsen, and Conway P. (Berdine) Tingey.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Pine Ridge Care Center of South Salt Lake for the wonderful care and love they gave to Emma during her stay with them.

Funeral services will be Thurs., May 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Centerville 1st Ward Chapel, 160 South 300 East, where friends may call 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
