WINTERPORT - Leonard Glenn Norton Sr., 72, died May 8, 2008, at his home. He was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Jonesport, the son of Millard W. and Nellie A. (West) Norton of Addison. He served three years in the Army, serving 16 months in Korea. Leonard worked for Don Moore on his poultry farm and 28 years for American Concrete Industries of Veazie, as a truck driver. He was predeceased by his parents, Millard and Nellie of Addison; two brothers, Millard D. of Whitneyville and Philmore of Augusta; and a sister, Carla Davis of Augusta. Lenny was also predeceased by a special grandson, "Little Buddy," Shane Wood Norton, who affectionately called him "Big Buddy," in 2007. Leonard is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Imogene (Norton) Norton of Winterport; two daughters, Cherryl Warren and her husband, Robert, of Swanville and Diane Baker and her husband, Dwayne, of Winterport; two sons, Leonard Norton Jr. and his wife, Angela, of Frankfort and James Norton and his wife, Nancy, of Hudson; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Bryer of Van Buren and Arlene Dorr of Milford; one brother, Terry Norton and his wife, Lillis, of Addison; nieces and nephews. At Leonard's request, there will be no services. In keeping with Lenny's love for his grandson, memorial contributions may be made to Shane Wood Norton, care of Nancy Norton, 25 Brandy Lane, Hudson, ME 04449. These funds are used to help families who have children with cancer. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral and Cremation Service.
