Janice Mary Arave Priest
Janice Mary Priest, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 18, 2012 at Monticello Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Janice was born July 3, 1920 in Taylor, Idaho, to Joseph Frank Arave and Edith Garner Arave. She grew up in Taylor, Idaho where she attended school.

On February 13, 1937, she married Francis Milner Priest in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together they raised three children.

She worked as a waitress at Jack's Chicken Inn and a cook for the Shelley School District, working for the Taylor School for 22 years.

Janice enjoyed raising a family and crocheting hangers and giving them away.

Survivors include her daughters: Diane (Ernie) Watson, of Idaho Falls, and Lois (LaMar) Yorgensen, of Taylor, ID;
brother, Doyle Arave, of Idaho Falls; sister, Nel Scanlon, of Garden Grove, CA; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; Jack and Lowell Arave; three sisters: Gene Gordon, Wanda Richardson and Ora Christofferson; daughter, Arlene Isaacs; grandson, Frank Isaacs; and two granddaughters: Tiffanie Watson and Kathy White.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Taylor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association. (350 N. 9th Street, Suite 404 Boise, Idaho 83702).
