Frank Francis Alfano, 78, formerly of South Beloit, died Thursda, Oct. 17, 1996 in Meadow Park Health Care Center, Clinton, Wis., after a long illness. Born Feb. 9, 1918 in Rockford, the son of Domenic and Vita Bordenaro Alfano. Graduated from high school in Rockford. Married Mildred Bennett in Rockford, april 23, 1940; she died April 14, 1979. He was a longtime business owner/operator of the WheelInn, South Beloit. Member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Rockford Musicians Union. He was gifted with the ability to play many different musical instruments. Survivors include sons Donald (Carolyn) Alfano of Long Branch, N.J., and Robert (Sandra) Alfano of Mukwonago, Wis.; granddaughters Gina Alfano of Chicago and Lori Alfano of Bloomingdale; brothers Luke (Betty) Alfano of Pittsfield, Ill., Barney (Josie) Alfano-Orendorf and Joe (Ann) Alfano, all of Rockford; sister Frances DeVito of Bloomfield, N.J.; nieces, nephews and cousins. Also predeceased by parents. Prayer services at 9:45 am Saturday, Oct. 19 in Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, Beloit, Wis., with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Peter Catholic Church, South Beloit; Monsignor David Kagan will officiate. Entombment in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit.
