Mrs. Neva Haddock Darby, age 85, of Florence, died Thursday, July 4, 2002.Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, with Fred Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery.Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.Mrs. Darby was a member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ, a retiree of Genesco after 42 years of service, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby G. Darby; several brothers and sisters; and her parents.Survivors include her sons: Leroy Darby and wife, Nadine, Billy Ray Darby and wife, Vicki, of Florence; sisters: Vera Lawson of South Bend, Ind., Elaine Simpson and Raymond of Granger, Ind., Faye Fulmer and Charles of Union, Mich., Gertrude Holt, Nina Raye, Martha Lee and Carl, all of Florence; brothers: J.T. Haddock and Mildred of Opelika, Ala., Ray Haddock and June of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Ronnie and Casey Darby, Rita Stoddard, Deana Jones and Kerri Blalock; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.Special thanks to the staff of Station Two at Mitchell Hollingsworth, Dr. Hobbs and friends at Montreat Apartments.Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, is directing.
