Mrs. Patricia L Barber, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at her home.
She was born March 3, 1931 in Medaryville, Indiana, the daughter of Alvin Lowry and Martha (Salrin) Lowry.
Patricia worked as a secretary along side her husband, Max, a zone manager for South Bend Tribune, retiring after many years. Patricia adored cooking, loved animals, gardening and enjoyed playing penny slots and draw poker at the casino's.
She was married in 1949 in Kingsford Heights, IN, to Max A. Barber who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son - Thomas (Ric Vangundy) Barber of La Porte, IN.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Shirley.
Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, October 19, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 1:30 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
