She was converted at an early age at the Indian Creek Baptist Church at Cartmell.
She was united in marriage to Floyd Clifford Elswick Nov. 15, 1913. To this union one daughter, Wandell, was born.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Clifford Elswick of the home, 3 miles west of Stella, one daughter, Mrs. Alfred Hooper, of Kansas City,
three sisters, Mrs. Neta Maness of Kansas City, Mrs. Daisy Dykeman of Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Marie Pepping of Tucson, Ariz., three brothers, John Clanton of Miami, Okla., Delmar and Logan Clanton of Davenport, Iowa, and by a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Hamilton Clanton, two brothers, Ernest Clanton, who died in infancy, and tow sisters, Mrs. Edith Speaks and Mrs. Nora Wright. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, Dec. 9 at 2 o'clock in the Stella Baptist Church by the Rev. R. A. Hutson of Neosho. Burial was in the Hazelgreen Cemetery under direction of the Pogue Funeral Home.
