Sola Tackett Ferguson, 92, of Riceville, Johnson Co Ky., died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home, Xenia, Ohio. Born Oct. 31, 1913, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Callie and Alta Lemaster Blanton. She was a retired postmaster with Riceville Post Office, a merchant, who owned and operated a grocery store in Riceville for many years with her husband, the late Jesse Tackett. She was also preceded in death by a son, Otto Tackett. Survivors include two sons, Benn Tackett of Xenia, and Chester Tackett of Riceville: four daughters, Ella Caudill, Neva Caudill, and Betty Hines, all of Xenia, and Ruth Ann Blair of Riceville; a sister, Evelyn Click of Swamp Branch; 35 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 27, at Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, Paintsville, with Elders John R. Pelphrey and J.O. Rice officiating. Burial was in Bayes Cemetery, Swamp Branch, under direction of Paintsville Funeral Home.
