Marjorie was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Percy, to William E. and Anna (Rednour) Mundis. She had worked as a welder in the shipyards in California during World War II. Then, she had worked as a sales clerk at Fab 'N Trim in Carbondale, and as a bookkeeper at Jim Pearl's and then at Marion Toyota, from where she retired.
Marjorie Delphine married John Delph "Bud" King on July 25, 1936, in Waterloo, and he preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1972.
Mrs. King was a member of First Christian Church in Murphysboro and Dorcas Sunday school class. She was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary and had been a member of Jackson County Home Extension Gabbers Unit.
She was a great seamstress and had made her daughters' clothing when they were growing up. She also knitted, crocheted and quilted.
She and her husband had also been foster parents.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, John W. "Bill" and Janice King of Good Hope, Donna Riehm and Bob Privett of Murphysboro, James D. and Dolores King of Murphysboro and Lynn and Duncan Koch of Carbondale; seven grandchildren, Jim (Tammy) Riehm, Jon "Scott" (Jennifer) King, Darren (Mandy) King, Jason (Crystal) King, Anna (Aaron) Green, Donna (Mike) Garavalia and Heather Koch; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Reid of Gastonia, N.C.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and her parents.
