Dolly R. Mattingly, age 69 of Hardinsburg, KY died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Breckinridge County on November 1, 1941, the daughter of the late Lonard and Mae Sanders Hurst. She was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and life member of VFW Ladies Auxilliary. Dolly was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and her puppy, fishing, collecting dolls and attending dances at the Fordsville Senior Center. She was a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Center in Hardinsburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her son James Kenneth Dowell, grandson Joshua Yocum, brother Ernest Cecil Hurst, sister Rose Tindle and son-in-law: Douglas Lamar Priest. Dolly is survived by her husband Paul M. Mattingly of Hardinsburg, KY; 5 children: Donna Sue Wall of Harned, KY, David Dowell and Sheila Priest of Hardinsburg, KY, Kathy Yocum of Brooks, KY, Keith Dowell of Custer, KY; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 soon to be born; 1 brother, Thomas Hurst of Hardinsburg, KY; 6 sisters, Nancy Chancellor, Elizabeth Boling and Zella Ruth Emery of Cloverport, KY, Lona Emery of Hardinsburg, KY, Katherine Newton of Reynolds Station, KY, Opal Keown of Fordsville, KY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 11 A.M. at St. Romuald Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Bickett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, 3-8 P.M. and after 8:30 A.M. Thursday. Memorial contributions are requested to the Good Samaritan Center or for Masses.
