Shreveport, LA - Lena Elizabeth Caskey hennigan, 85, entered into rest Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in Bossier City, LA. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Friday, August 6, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Reverend Jon Harp, Associate Pastor of Brookwood baptist Church, assisted by Reverend Gary Palmer, Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, Meriwether Road.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, August 5, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Hennigan was born August 29, 1918 in Liberty Hill, LA to the late Dossie Elmer and Minnie Lou Caskey. She was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church and of the Gold Tones Choir.
Mrs. Hennigan was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. The strength of her giving and loving nature will continue to live on in the hearts, thoughts and prayers of her beloved husband of sixty-nine years, Daniel "Slayton" Hennigan; sons, Ronald Hennigan, Dr. Bruce Hennigan and wife, Sherry; daughters, Gwen Ennis, Sue Hammack and husband, Wayne; sister, Billie June Southern and husband, Ray; brother, Robert Caskey and wife, Jeannette; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Brookwood Baptist Church.
