Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Frevert
We are called upon to record the death of a most estimable lady, one who endeavored to perform all the duties of life with fidelity, and was true and unostentatious in her good works.
Mrs. Elizabeth Frevert, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning, at her residence on west Main street, after a very brief illness. She seemed to have no clearly defined disease, death resulting apparently from an exhausted physical condition.
Mrs. Frevert was born at Mannhein, on the Rhine, on the 25th of November, 1822, and was consequently 63 years, 5 months, and 20 days old at the time of her death. She came to this country in 1830, and direct to Madison, where she has lived continuously ever since. One year after arriving here her father died. Her maiden name was Bachman, and she was a sister to the late James Bachman. On the 9th of November, 1846, she was married to Mr. August L. Frevert, known to our old citizens as a man of high standard of character. He died April3d, 1876. They had eight children, four of whom are now living, three sons and one daughter.
The funeral service will take place at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, at the family residence, Rev. John Moncure officiating. Interment at Fairmount Cemetery.
