Anna Riggione Catone in her 93rd year, entered into eternal rest February 16, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Born in Pittsfield, Mass., she spent the majority of her life in Troy as the wife of Albert Catone who owned and operated a barber shop in downtown Troy for over 65 years. Anna spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to 16 grandchildren and great-grand-children. She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Catone McGuirk, Carol Catone McCarthy, and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Catone. Mrs. Catone is the grandmother of eight grandchildren, including Brian and Lane McCarthy, Sheri McGuirk Camprone, Terri and Allen McGuirk, as well as Kathy, AJ, and Joseph Catone. Anna has left us to join her dear departed husband, Albert and their son, Albert Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 3rd St., Troy and at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church at 3207 Sixth Avenue in Troy. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
